100% Remote Position as an Inpatient Medical Billing Specialist / Certified Professional Coder!

TEKsystems is looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to assist their our client’s team with additional support. This is a 100% remote role!!! TEKsystems has been placing consultants at this client for over 10 years. This is a 6 month contract that has a very high likelihood of getting extended much longer.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Use analytical and interpretation skills when applying verification guidelines and principles for correct code assignment and proper sequencing of diagnoses and procedures.

Strong knowledge of PAIC

Moderate skills including MS Office Suite, encoder software

Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to generate clear documentation queries to physicians.

Essential Functions

• Reviews and interprets payor information to accurately identify pertinent information
• Assigns and sequences following the CHAA Certification guidelines
• Abstracts and compiles clinical data elements for verification
• Validates and initiates communication and collecting correct information
• Queries physician when documentation in the record is ambiguous, inadequate, unclear or incorrect
• Collaborates with Clinical Documentation to ensure verification from Payor Websites
• Demonstrates ability to navigate insurance portals and payor websites.
• strong understanding of Epic
• Demonstrates timely completion of all training and education as well as maintains credentials by completing assigned

continuing education credits per Coding Compliance requirements.

Patients admitted to the hospital (inpatients) will receive separate invoices for some services. Your hospital bill will include charges for your room, food, medical supplies and services, and any tests or procedures, including X-rays, etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 2+ Years of Medical Billing / CPC experience in a hospital environment. Inpatient hospital experience is required.
• 2+ years of working with ICD-10
• 2+ years of experience working with EMR systems (Epic preferred) and Optum billing is preferred.

• ADD RHIT, RHIA, CCS
• CCS-P, CCA
