JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The Director of Construction plays a critical role in achieving Teriyaki Madness’ annual and long-term growth plans.

Reporting directly to the CDO, the position is primarily responsible for the delivery of the brand through the asset, driving and executing the organization’s growth plans through construction and restaurant opening. The goal is to deliver completed projects in a timely manner while meeting development budgets and quality expectations.

This position must be a cultural leader for the brand and execute in a timely manner the growth and development goals as a building block for one of the hottest restaurant concepts in the industry.

Essential Functions

• Develop and manage department and CapEx budgets.
• Manage and develop 1- 5 Project Managers
• Experience working with corporate as well as franchise projects.
• Source, qualify and manage the construction infrastructure including consultants, material and equipment vendors and general contractors
• Build long-term relationships with restaurant development infrastructure to foster teamwork & deliver expected goals.
• Develop project budgets based on project specific criteria.
• Plan, track and monitor progress of projects throughout the development process.
• Ensure projects are completed on budget and on schedule.
• Ensure quality standards are met through field inspections to ensure construction is adhering to plans and specification and design intent.
• Lead value engineering efforts as necessary to match investment to ROI needs. Seek innovative ways to reduce construction costs while managing quality and timeframes.
• Track and analyze actual costs for each project and benchmark with best-in-class brands.
• Other facility and repair projects, as required.

Qualifications

• College Degree in relevant field required, (Architecture, civil engineering, construction management), or commensurate experience
• 7+ years of construction experience in ground up & conversions, w/ minimum 5 years in the restaurant industry.
• Planning, scoping, and execution of restaurant builds, remodels, and conversions
• Cross functional knowledge and management/leadership skills relative to due diligence and entitlement aspects of specific projects.
• Sound judgment
• Self-starter and must be able to work autonomously
• Skilled in process and project management
• Excellent multi-tasking skills
• Flexibility and priority planning to manage competing initiatives and requirements
• Working knowledge of negotiating techniques, methods and practices.
• The ability to direct, develop and ultimately achieve results through others
• Strong analytical / financial skills
• Excellent written and verbal skills, relevant computer skills
• High-energy, results-oriented working style

Pay: $90,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
