This corporate HRIS internship is integrating knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and developing your skills in a professional setting. This will give you the opportunity to gain valuable experience in corporate healthcare human resources.

Internship description/opportunities:

• Develop learning objectives and goals that are structured into the experience within the field of Human Resources
• Opportunity to participate and learn about Human Resources as part of our Human Resources Information Systems team and complete projects that are value added to the business such as
  

  • Assist in special projects such as analysis of current reporting inventory, surveying needs of the customer (internal HR and enterprise)
  • Document data definitions for core HR data and metrics that are used in reporting
  • Basic understanding of systems, create a visual of our HR system ecosystem that includes data feeds across the various systems

• Analyzing data
• Bi-weekly check ins with Manager on performance & objectives
• Willingness to promote academic, career and personal development
• Opportunity to provide and receive feedback
• Utilize problem solving skills
• Maintains accurate and updated employee files in accordance with company policies and government regulations
• Assists in the development and improvement of company policies and procedures
• Composes competent employee communications regarding policy and procedural changes
• Assists in special projects, as needed

Timeline:

• June 5-August 4, full-time, paid internship

Qualifications:

• Prefer candidates at the junior, senior, or graduate student level pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Information Systems or a similar major with strong communication and data analysis skills.
• Exhibits exceptional verbal, written and interactive communication skills
• Demonstrates effective research tactics; good organizational skills
• Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality
• Ability to convey a positive and professional image to internal and external customers
• Commits to continuous learning; being self motivated and self directed
• Ability to work independently with sense of urgency to task completion
• Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
• Interest in learning about healthcare information technology

Additional information: this role will be in-person, full time at the Addison (International Plaza) location.
