Thales is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) based in Austin, Texas. The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) role is accountable for defining and driving a people agenda which will enable delivery of the business strategy and a high performance culture. A trusted partner, this role works with the business leaders to ensure that people initiatives help the business to attract, develop and retain talent. The purpose of this role is to contribute to and interpret the business strategy by identifying, articulating and implementing an HR strategy in conjunction with Group, Country, and GBU requirements. The HRBP liaises with the senior leadership of the DIS GBU NORAM (B&P, AIS & MCS) organization, as well as HR stakeholders in US, Canada & the DIS BL VP HR based in France. The HRBP must work as part of an integrated and collaborative HR function that is focused on driving business success.
Key Responsibilities:
Works in partnership with the Business Line to identify the people implications of strategic and business plans. Promote new ways of working to maximize opportunities, support change, build the right culture and manage risks, constructively challenging decisions to be in the best interests of the organization
Coaches, challenges and advises the NORAM DIS leadership team to ensure business objectives are delivered.
Identifies and builds management capability and growth of a future talent pipeline aligned to future business strategy
Innovates HR solutions and provide thought leadership to meet the long and short-term objectives of the business
Actively contributes to local and Thales Group People strategy and policies
Influences business decision-making to ensure HR issues and risk are considered systematically at the earliest possible point
Analyzes the external environment, business and people-related trends to identify and act on opportunities and threats
Provides data-driven insights to the leadership team and relevant HR function that underpin the business and people strategy
Partners closely with the HR COE’s and Shared Services to ensure that the appropriate SME’s are actively engaged to deliver business outcomes
Understands and applies organizational effectiveness and development tools in the DIS GBU while partnering with the broader HR COE team
Demonstrates and applies a structured and measurable approach to leading change within the DIS GBU
Facilitates global organizational improvement through diagnosing organizational problem areas and building OD strategies to address them; such as assessing training needs, leadership development, organizational redesign, change management and team development
This position is does not have budgetary responsibility, but does support the delivery of the financial objectives for the E&C Business Segment as agreed in the Multi Year Budget (MYB)
Assists in ensuring a harmonious work environment in all departments that you are working with by upholding Thales’s key values and behaviors
Complies with all relevant company Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies and work practices with the intent of preventing or minimizing accidental exposures to self, colleagues, visitors and/or the environment and to ensure safe work practices at all times
Complies with all relevant Company policies and procedures
Ensure full compliance with all legal, regulatory and Company requirements
Drive effective organizational development (OD) and change plans for major OD/change projects
Lead or actively participate in wider HR/business projects beyond own area of responsibility
Meet agreed milestones and targets in Group, GBU, Business Line and Country HR strategy and projects
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year accredited college or university with a minimum of 7-10 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated success leading talent management, organizational development, effectiveness and/or change management initiatives
Proven ability to provide strategic advice, develop options, analyze risks, make good judgements and solve problems.
Demonstrates an understanding of business lifecycle and models and uses this to make effective business decisions, applies commercial principles into strategies
Act as an advocate for Company values, role modelling the Thales Leadership Model at all times and ensuring others act as role models within the function and leadership team
Ability to work collaboratively on teams as well as influence and coach effectively and independently with all levels in the organization
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment and flexible in adapting and responding to changing situations
Ability to analyze complex situations and data to influence decision-making
Ability to link external best practice and market influence to the business objectives
Knowledge of all legal and regulatory requirements
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
This position requires very limited international travel to our offices in US, Canada, France, UK and India, estimated to be less than 15% travel annually.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience working in a global, matrix organization and high-tech, engineering environment
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, or Business preferred.
