Thales is currently seeking a Program Manager – Order Management Operations to join the team in Austin, TX. This role will is currently virtual, but may require occasional onsite presence once restrictions have been lifted.
In this role, you will have the primary responsibility to design, organize and communicate actions and activities openly with all stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of each project and to ensure project completion and implementation. Projects may focus on process improvements, and system enhancements or may focus on New Product introductions and the implementation of the product into the Operations workflow. You will represent Order Management but also be responsible for identifying the “best fit” solution for the company as a whole, which includes an understanding of the underlying processes in multiple departments.
You will be a change agent and will look for continuous improvement of processes and systems to enhance the customer experience. You will represent the Business community and ensure compliance and quality as they relate to the company and departmental requirements. Your role provides support for the Order Management department and leadership team to allow them to do their best work in support of the Sales organization and Customer base. Your goal is to establish consistent, reliable, and cross-functional synergies and to identify and evaluate new technologies and innovations related to and in support of Operations and Order Management.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as Project Manager on a wide range and variety of simultaneous projects which may incorporate developments on systems, processes, or products as they impact the Quote to Cash process.
Identify the goal of the project, understand desired outcomes, and communicate those requirements successfully to all groups working on a project.
Document and organize a plan to ensure all potential scenarios within the project are addressed and managed to ensure appropriate workflows, processes, and systems function to support operations activities and customer experience.
Ensure smooth, timely implementation of assigned new programs/projects, processes, software applications, and software upgrades including communications, training, and documentation, and follow up after project completion to evaluate success and failure points.
Lead efforts and/or execute the creation of process documentation, project documentation, training documentation, and internal communications.
Maintain “knowledge” center for Order management department to allow for easy access and complete documents and required process information to allow OMR (Order Management Representative) to perform necessary responsibilities as it relates to their role.
Work directly with team members to acquire and maintain a though knowledge of all current Order Management processes.
Create change requests and Issue tickets as needed to resolve both long and short-term issues with systems.
Escalate and identify issues within projects clearly to all parties to ensure they are caught and resolved as early as possible within the management of the project and lead cross-functional teams in the negotiation and resolution of all issues raised.
Represent the Business user community (Order Management) to other groups within the project and ensure that decisions are mutually beneficial to the success of the department
Produce project plans, timelines, business process flows, status reports, and departmental communications and updates as needed
Reach out to and work with Cross-functional teams to identify and capitalize on innovations and new technology
Work in global time zones as needed in support of project requirements
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
4+ years of experience in a fast-paced technical product-based organization.
2+ years of experience with ERP systems and tools- preferably Oracle- and working on projects that incorporate the ERP functionality into project requirements.
Ability to recreate the process, order scenarios in a Dev environment, and run use cases to identify the best possible solutions.
Experience acting as an escalation point for internal team members as a subject matter expert on products/services.
Project Management Certification or Coursework.
Demonstrated experience and ability to work with the Information Technology team, represent the business needs, and ensure the development of system enhancements are in line with the Quote to Cash process.
Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office suite, Project management software.

Demonstrated success with the management of projects and project-related teams.
Excellent communication skills both written and spoken.
