Cardinal Shehan School, located in Baltimore, is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and experienced Middle School Social Studies teacher who exhibits a passion for working with children. The successful applicant should demonstrate knowledge and communication of subject matter competency to middle school students. A willingness to commit to and collaborate on behalf of student growth and success is essential.

Job Responsibilities:

• Follows the AOB curriculum and best practices in development of daily instructional plan
• Use effective instructional methods/models according to professional standard practice
• Use varied assessment tools to perform both formative and summative assessments by demonstrating a willingness to respond to individual learning needs.
• Collaborates with grade level teaches to enhance and support instructional planning as well as collaborating with content area teachers or cross-curricular assignments.
• Communicates effectively with students, parents and administration in all matters related school

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or Social Studies
• A valid Maryland State Certification with endorsements Social Studies or willingness to achieve
• Knowledge of curriculum, instructional methods/strategies, and curriculum differentiation
• Able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
• Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
