PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Directly responsible for the overall administration, organization, implementation, coordination and evaluation of the human resources department and all activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, and employee services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, directs, and coordinates the efforts of the human resources department and activities to ensure the appropriate use of resources to meet organizational needs. Provide services to other departments in accordance with the overall organizational strategic goals by performing the following:

Policies:
Continuously monitor, update, and maintain policies and practices in all areas of human resources management. – Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation to employees and management.
Legal Matters:
Provides counsel and handles legal matters within the domain of human resources responsibilities.
Develop & Oversee Staff Training:
Develop, present, or oversees staff training or informational sessions in following areas:
Compensation Program:
Works with the Compensation Manager in the administration of salary compensation program, employee health benefits, retirement benefits plans, and workers compensation by performing the following:
Goal Tracking:
Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
HR Information Systems:
Directs development and maintenance of human resources information systems by performing the following:
Provides Leadership:
Provides leadership and department programs that attract, retain, and motivate employees. Responsible for overseeing the selection and supervision, and performance of employees.
Laws & Regulations:
Maintain a current knowledge of new laws and regulations in HR Management. Attends and participates in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs as directed.
Servanthood Leadership:
Serves as a corporate consultant adhering to the performance expectations and standards as prescribed by the Servanthood Leadership Tenets and Consultant Code of Conduct.
On Time Appraisals:
Evaluates the work performance of each direct report by completing performance appraisals within the established guidelines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to regularly walk and stand; and occasionally stoops; kneels, crouches or crawls, pushes, pulls, lifts, grasps and feels. The employee frequently is required to use manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination when handling office equipment. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Typical business or office environment. The noise level is normally quiet. No occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases or other potentially infectious substances (Category I). Work schedule may include working morning, evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or at least four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least two years supervisory experience. PHR or SPHR certification preferred. Experience in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to staff and organization operations. Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to apply principles of logic to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Effective team building skills; organizational and staff development. Ability to obtain cooperation and participation of individuals and groups. Possess basic personal computer skills and ability to utilize various software programs. Work schedule may include working mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
