The Teacher will support the classroom by teaching whole group, working with individual students, or small groups of students. Strong interpersonal communication skills and a patient, positive attitude are a must. In order to help educate their class and ensure success, teachers should be innovative team members who are passionate about transforming traditional approaches to educating scholars, performing as leaders, and inspiring as people, while seeking to set a new standard for what is possible for children.

Selected Responsibilities:

• Able to communicate and discuss assigned duties with teachers and effectively coordinate instructional efforts
• Organize and prepare materials such as lesson materials, bulletin boards, exhibits, equipment, etc.
• Assist and tutor children individually and in small groups under teacher’s guidance to help master material and reinforce learning
• Oversee students in classrooms, other areas on campus, and field trips
• Follow and enforce school rules
• Grade homework and tests, and record results
• Observe and record student performance as requested to assess progress
• Organize classroom and materials
• Provide extra assistance to students with special needs as requested
• Take class attendance and maintain attendance records
• Participate in staff meetings and committees
• Perform clerical work such as typing, filing, and duplicating materials
• Demonstrate the utmost respect for scholars and share a relentless commitment to their academic and personal growth.
• Keep track of role and ensure scholars are attending and participating in class, communicating with families to problem solve for non-participation.
• Keep an organized and orderly learning environment that promotes creativity and learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Teaching License
• Proven experience working with children of school age
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Planning and implementing activities with children
• Follow basic principles of childhood development
• Establish and maintain effective, working relationships with children, parents, and staff
• The drive to do more than is expected or required in order to accomplish a challenging task
• An aptitude towards planning in order to derive future benefits, or to avoid problems

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $35,000.00 – $40,000.00 per year
