Title: Zone Lead 2nd Shift
Hours:Monday Friday 5:30 PM 2 AM
Pay Rate:$11.00-13.00 Per hour
Location: High Point University Campus
Position Summary:The Zone Leads duties include general cleaning, pulling trash, dusting, cleaning restrooms, vacuuming, and other cleaning duties. Additionally, Leads will lead and train front line employees, coordinate teams to complete special tasks and ensure buildings are being cleaned per the scope at multiple sites. This position is ideally suited to emerging leaders seeking growth opportunities into management positions.

Provides leadership to the Janitorial Team by assigning specific duties or focuses, as directed by the Operations/Contract manager.
Assists in prioritizing duties to ensure that the best balance of scheduled and unscheduled work is maintained to serve the client.
Oversees multiple buildings/areas and ensures staff teams are supported with staff and supplies as needed.
Assists in project cleaning, which includes lifting and removing furniture from rooms. Setting up and breaking down event set ups; moving student chairs/desks, file cabinets, rugs, and all other boxes in classrooms. Will also include scrubbing floors, pulling trash, dusting, vacuuming, and restroom cleaning or other duties.
Maintains a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive CE vehicles on campus.
Performs daily inspections of assigned buildings and tasks to ensure daily work is at an acceptable level. Generates a daily report of any lingering issues or major work that needs to be accomplished.
Leads on-the-job cleaning and disinfection training for new employees and ensures they are prepared before working alone. This includes dwell times and different solutions for facility issues.
General cleaning, sweeping and mopping floors around machines, removing debris, cleaning windows and bathrooms, emptying trash and removing cardboard, cleaning storage areas outside the plant, using a pressure washer to clean concrete areas outside. Sweeping and cleaning storm drains and ditches, stairwells, outside utility areas, and elevator floors. Provides assistance with any outside cleaning, which may include sweeping sidewalks and picking up trash.
Operates various types of equipment and machinery, which include wet vacuums, hand trucks, vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors, floor buffers, automatic scrubbers, etc. Assists in the completion of the workload in the absence of other service workers.
Performs closet/equipment inspections. Reports any malfunctions / maintenance problems to the supervisor. Discusses work problems and/or schedule problems with supervisor and / or management. May be required to lock and / or unlock doors. Attends training meetings and sessions as directed.
Helps the Operations Manager resolve employee and customer issues.
Provide feedback to management as needed on unique client requirements and opportunities to expand client relationships.
Safety training, proper use of PPE, Application of anti-microbial barrier technology solutions and utilization of proper PPE for disinfection applications.
Fills in at any site as needed.

Required:
Minimum 2 years of hospitality or health care facility experience required.
Experience in Manufacturing Plant or Warehouse experience preferred.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to learn and explain basic cleaning principles and techniques.
Ability to perceive identification numbers marked on material, utilize basic email/call/text communication and operate work related computer applications.
Reliable transportation and MVR required.
Physical Demands:
The employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with arms and hands. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must lift / move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. including AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses. The noise level is usually moderate.
