Staff Accountant/Licensing Specialist

Description

Successful candidate will help ensure accurate reporting of financial transactions, compliance with state licensing requirements for a debt collection agency, assist in Accounts Payable functions and operate in a support role for the Accounting Manager. Must have intermediate accounting knowledge, be proficient MS Excel, possess excellent communication and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail. Candidate should be flexible in their job description and open to cross training. Ideal candidate is organized, good at meeting deadlines and open to learning new skills.

• Manage monthly financial transactions; journal entries, bank & balance sheet reconciliations, etc.
• Assist in the Accounts Payable processes, including the prepping and posting of invoices and expense reports plus processing bi-weekly check-runs and monthly credit card reconciliation(s)
• Daily Treasury Internet Banking reporting & daily client ACHs uploads
• Bi-weekly vendor payroll reconciliation project
• Complete State Licensing for a collection agency in an accurate and timely manner
• Research state/business licensing regulations, when needed
• Organize and maintain licensing filing documentations
• Performs other job duties as assigned, i.e. filing & data-entry like tasks, when needed

Requirements

• Previous licensing experience is preferred
• Willingness to learn new processes and adjust in fast paced environment
• Minimum of two years GL experience
• Business licensing experience licensing is a plus
• Intermediate Excel skills; Pivot Tables and V/H lookups is a plus
• Exceptionally organized, detailed & deadline oriented
• Strong communication & time management skills
• Ability to multi-task and handle numerous projects
• Ability to work with all levels of management
• Willing and able to work additional hours during month-end, heavy licensing season or any other special circumstance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
