Job Summary
Responsible for the facilitation and management of document preparation and traffic coordination required to correctly process shipments in a cost-efficient manner and in compliance with company policies and procedures and all regulatory guidelines and requirements. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the cost efficient movement of shipments and operations.

• Ensure that Gateway services and rates are competitive with outside competition.

• Evaluate daily workload and workflow, and delegate tasks.

• Manage, supervise and train customer service, data entry, and/or dispatch, and warehouse personnel.

• Develop and maintain excellent service to internal and external customers at all times.

• Manage periodic process reviews for each client.

• Maintain performance statistics for clients, agents and carriers.

• Prepare, review, analyze and reconcile financial reports, budgets, expense reports and forecasts for department.

• Manage profitability and growth of department.

• Work with management to establish business plan and goals for department.

• Utilize superior communications skills to motivate staff and develop effective working relationships with peers, executives and clients.

• Oversee and manage the professional development and productivity of staff members to ensure proper goals, training, professional development and project requirements are met.

• Personally coach, train and mentor direct reports and provide career development opportunities though training, and quality management activities.

• Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff within department.

• Address all employee performance opportunities promptly and directly in accordance with personnel policies of the Company.

• Keep abreast of emerging technology changes and innovations through formal or informal study, reading business and professional publications, networking and participation in professional organizations.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High School Degree or GED required.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation, Logistics or Supply Chain Management preferred; or an equivalent combination of work experience

• Minimum ten years related work experience required.

• Minimum five years management experience required.

• Minimum ten years industry experience preferred.

Languages and Communication Skills

• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, customers, agents and carriers.

Computer Skills

• PC Literate

• HIgh proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.

Other Skills/Experience

• Ability to manage the financial aspects of a department (purchasing, budget preparations and review, financial reporting and monitoring expenses).

Travel Requirements*
Travel is required at least 10 % of the time in this position. Travel identified is approximately 100 % domestic (within the United States).
Working Conditions
Work is generally performed in a warehouse office environment with standard office equipment available and adequate lighting. Warehouse environment includes exposure to high noise, moving machinery and/or vehicles, dust and warm temperatures, and working closely with others.
