The Position: Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer; Executive Vice President, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for the following tasks:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Assisting in development of grant funder budgets
· Monitoring and analyzing expenses on an on-going basis as assigned
· Participating in the evaluation of budget revisions and modifications
· Reviewing invoices for payment
· Participating and preparing documents for cost control meetings with program staff and management
· Preparing financial reporting and analysis as directed, including forecasts, budget vs. actual grant reports, and revenue projection
· Participate in all regulatory reporting processes, such as, the annual independent audit, Medicare Cost Report, Medicaid Cost Report, MCVR and CFR reporting and in preparation of the annual UDS report for FQHCs
· Assist in the coordination of fiscal budget monitoring of all grants and deliverables necessary for each funding stream
· Reconciling client services revenue reported in the client billing system to the general ledger
· Assists in keeping the fiscal procedures manual current and reflective of actual policies and procedures
· Assists with cash collections and bank deposits
· The Staff Accountant may perform other tasks as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer or the Executive Vice President.
Background and Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
· Minimum of three years of finance and accounting experience within the healthcare work environment is preferred.
· Must possess a strong analytical background, have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with vendors, staff, and all levels of management.
· Knowledge of Medicare Cost Report, Medicaid Cost Report, MCVR and CFR reporting and in preparation of the annual UDS report for FQHCs.
· Knowledge of Fund EZ accounting software preferred
· Excellent proficiency with the use of all Microsoft applications, specifically Excel and pivot tables.
