The Godwin Group is looking for an individual for the Human Resources Department. Hourly pay is commensurate with experience, but we are also willing to train. The successful candidate must have excellent oral and verbal communication skills and must be able to communicate with employees, applicants, and management. Must be able to speak in a group setting to communicate new benefits, new safety initiatives, etc. Highly organized, proficient with Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook, and as well as be able to work in a team environment. Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Work experience in a manufacturing setting is a PLUS. Payroll experience is a PLUS. Successful candidate will train to become the Human Resources Manager at Godwin Manufacturing Company, likely within first year of employment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
While you are in training, you will be working at both facilities (Godwin Manufacturing and Champion Hoist & Equipment). Your final role as Human Resources will be located at Godwin Manufacturing.
You must be willing to work in a manufacturing environment as well as an office environment, which means you will need business casual attire and safety shoes. When in the plant you will need to wear all required safety gear.
You must be able to perform basic functions in Excel, such as add, subtract, multiply, divide, sort, and simple formulas.
You must be able to use letter and form templates to create correspondence, etc.
You will post jobs and perform reference checks, as well as schedule interviews.
You will create job offer letters, enroll new hires in the payroll processing system, and track when evaluations and pay increases are due.
You will learn the benefits program and enroll employees once they meet the eligibility period.
You will track time and attendance and enter requests for time off into the payroll processing system. You will process payroll on a weekly basis.
You will learn to create write-up documents and how to counsel employees to modify unsatisfactory performance.
You will enter workers compensation claims online and track progress of employee’s medical care and any restricted duties or lost time.
You will keep all OSHA records and update current-year OSHA log as needed.
You will create termination letters and exit packets for all terminated employees.
You will assist in the administration of the safety program, including annual hearing evaluations and respirator fit testing.
