The Restaurant Host is the first person the guest interacts with when they enter the restaurant; therefore it is important that the Host strives to create a positive and memorable guest experience. The Host position creates the guests first impression of the dining experience. While guests are waiting for a table it is the job of the Host to make them feel welcome and comfortable.
The Host is responsible for monitoring the restaurant for open sections and tables, estimating wait times, monitoring a guest wait list when needed, and insuring that the guests are comfortable while waiting for a table.
