The LFS Group is looking for a motivated Project Accountant to join our team! Prior construction industry experience and knowledge of AIA billing is preferred. Experience with Sage 300 and Procore software is a definite plus.
_POSITION OVERVIEW: _
_ _This extensively integrated role works closely with the Project Managers to ensure all projects are properly billed and payments are collected In a timely manner. Additionally, you will be in communication with large profile customer’s construction contract departments to ensure all required progress and closeout documentation is properly submitted to ensure timely payment of contracts. You will have oversight of job costs ensuring project details are maintained in accordance with company standards. As part of this costing responsibility, you will also have oversight of accounts payable ensuring commitments are accurately billed by subcontractors.
Job Responsibilities:
· Set up new customer contracts in billing system and cross-referencing the set-up in the individual customer’s contract management systems.
· Ensure customers are billed correctly for services offered
· Issue invoices and distribute them according to customer requirements
· Ensure required job cost information is accurate and up to date during billing cycles; work with Project Management team to update any exceptions
· Discuss and address any customer requests for documentation necessary for invoice approvals.
· Update miscellaneous internal jobs for budget variances
· Oversee accounts payable and the required lien waiver process
· Close out all aspects of a project upon completion
· Manage employee expense reporting system
· Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
· Minimum of an Associates degree or equivalent
· Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in billing or similar role; preferably with a construction company
· Minimum of 1-2 years of accounts payable and commitments; preferably with a construction company
· Able to work successfully in a deadline-driven environment with frequent interruptions
· Adherence to laws and best practices in regards to dealing with customers and data
· Comfortable dealing with numbers and the processing of financial information
· Excellent knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel), Procore and Sage 300 CRE software
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
