Job Summary*

Neato is looking for a back-end developer to help us build and maintain our in-house suite of data products. As a member of Neato’s tech team, you will be responsible for creating robust server-side applications and databases to distribute essential data throughout our products.

Description of Responsibilities: *

• Cross-collaborate with project stakeholders including product management, our multiple user bases, and, of course, the Neato tech team
• Be an active part of product design and enhancements
• Develop clean code that embodies stability, sustainability, and usability
• Work with a React front-end, Python back-end, and PostgreSQL database, as well as various AWS services
• Take on routine team practices such as frequent merge requests and peer code reviews
• Support existing code-stacks through continuous testing and troubleshooting
• Involvement in scrum-based project planning and road mapping

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Fluency in one more object-oriented programming languages, preferably Python
• Ability to create and maintain code from initial design to release
• Experience with API usage and JSON manipulation
• Knowledge of ETL pipeline creation and other forms of data ingestion
• Basic understanding of AWS services
• Experience with SQL Database creation and manipulation
• Effective at collaborating in a remote work environment
• Self-learner, interested in keeping up with the latest and greatest in back-end technologies
• Excitement about the opportunity to create from-scratch products that fulfill both customer and internal needs

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• One year of back end development preferred
