The Director of Sales is responsible for total room, banquet, catering, and room rental revenue streams, participate in development of yield strategies, accountable for market performance and meeting/exceeding budget, forecast, and optimal business mix targets. Additional responsibilities include hiring of staff, training, managing and coaching.
The Director of sales oversees the Conference Services department and works in close collaboration with the Reservations department. The individual will also work closely with the General Manager, Regional and Corporate staff, ownership and discipline subject matter experts to ensure appropriate brand building and asset growth focusing on the following:
- Deliver on the Brand Personality and Brand Promise
- Overall responsibility for total revenue and will collaborate on development and execution of yield strategies
- Accountable to market performance and potential performance as well as achievement of budget, forecast, and target goals
- Hands on leadership of team – must demonstrate ability to lead a team and direct and hold accountable accordingly. Must have experience in the development of Business Travel, Group and Banquet/Catering segments
- Activity participates in community relations
- Creates and implements a cohesive Hotel Business Plan with emphasis on revenue achievement via Direct Sales, PR, Revenue Management and Ecommerce strategies
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years Resort Sales Management / Leadership with experience of managing a team of 5-10 associates including a marketing manager/director
- Experienced within Florida market preferred but will consider other resort destination experience
- Strong knowledge of group markets including State Association and SMERF as well as significant city-wide demand generator capture (i.e. Bike Week, Daytona 500, etc.)
- This position is hotel based in Daytona
- Should have independent resort experience
- Our standard proficiencies for a DOSM position ( FDC /Delphi experience (Sales system, effective team building skills, collaboration, and effective communication)
