This role is the HR leader for the new PeproTech, Recombinant Proteins Business in the Biosciences Division located in Cranbury, NJ. The addition of PeproTech’s portfolio complements Thermo Fisher’s Gibco™ cell culture products, expanding our ability to provide end-to-end workflow support with product portfolio that includes over 700 recombinant proteins, including research use only (“RUO”), animal free (“AF”), and good manufacturing practice (“GMP”) cytokines and other products such as monoclonal antibodies, media and enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA) kits that support nearly all current recombinant protein applications.

The major responsibilities for this role include support of the General Manager and other members of the leadership team to support the talent integration. This includes organizational capability, driving culture change, defining organizational needs, determining development needs and strategy, determining hiring needs, resolving employee issues, and contributing to the achievement of the strategic and operating plan objectives. This includes overseeing the engagement strategy and aligning a growth/expansion talent strategy that supports the strong business growth.

This individual must possess the ability to quickly grasp the strategic objectives of the business and align the talent programs and processes to support the key strategies. The HR leader will help lead the integration process and strategies to support the organization.

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:

• Support leadership across the PeproTech/Recombinant proteins team and guide coach leaders in day to day and strategic initiatives.
• Be part of the HR BID Leadership team
• Oversee key initiatives across the PeproTech/Recombinant Proteins business to support the HR Talent strategy and key programs across the business
• Collaborate with the GM and functional leaders in areas such as organizational assessment, succession planning, organizational structure, and work force planning change management in order to strengthen overall organizational capability.
• Ensure alignment of HR processes, i.e. Human Resources Review (HRR), Performance Management and Development (PMD), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), etc. with strategic and operating goals.
• Support rollout of key initiatives: Benefits implementation, job architecture, compensation programs, PMD and HRR programs, Thermo Fisher University.
• Drive the HR component of the business strategy through planning, developing, and implementing HR initiatives that increase the productivity, competence, and effectiveness.
• Counsel and/or coach employees and managers regarding employee relations issues including performance management, facilitation of formal/informal complaints to resolution, discipline and/or terminations in line with local culture and the business and legal environment.
• Drive employee engagement and satisfaction through promotion of a positive One Thermo Fisher company culture while balancing employee concerns with all levels of company goals.
  Ensure effective talent management including recruitment, assessment and development as the organization grows both organically as well as through acquisition. Assist managers in assessing and identifying resources to meet business needs and encouragement of employees to continuously develop their skills in their field of work.
  Manage the partnership with the talent acquisition team, including staffing coordination and job requisition management.
• Lead the annual performance and salary reviews as well as the variable pay programs.
  Responsible for remaining up to date on relevant labor and employment laws and other human resources compliance issues. Update management on policies/processes as necessary. Responsible for oversight and coordination of any regulatory requirements.
• Lead and/or participate in Division HR projects focused on continuous improvement of core programs and services. Lead and report out BU/Function KPIs, e.g., Turnover, Timeto fill, Diversity, etc, and lead mitigation plans that improve the status of these KPIs. Report on these during MBR and QBR process.
  Other duties as assigned.
  25% travel.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience leading an HR team and experience supporting a global organization is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in either Human Resources or a business related field required.
• Demonstrated success translating business strategies into organizational and HR strategies & actions.
• Comprehensive HR experience, including a complete understanding of and hands-on exposure to the full mix of HR functions in a global environment.
• Experience with Process Improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Practical Process Improvement, etc.)
• Experience working across a complex organizational matrix.
• A track record of positive results and an ability to show how his/her programs and policies have contributed to the growth and bottom line profitability of an organization while enhancing or driving cultural change.
