Toledo Tool and Die is a family-operated, 3rd generation metal stamping company that has been in existence since 1940. We are actively seeking an enthusiastic candidate to fill the role of Human Resources Manager at our Pioneer, OH facility that began stamping parts in February 2020.
The identified canididate will be responsibile for planning, directing and/or coordinating human resources activity for a three (3) shift operation (24/7) at the Pioneer facility in accordance with Federal, State and local employment laws, as well as company policy and procedures.
Summary of essential job functions
· Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.
· Analyze and recommend compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
· Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes.
· Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, terminating employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.
· Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
· Identify staff vacancies and recruit, interview and select applicants.
· Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, labor relations, and employee relations.
· Plan, organize, direct, control or coordinate the personnel, training, or labor relations activities of an organization.
· Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
· Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems, and safety and recreation programs
· Order suspension of activities that pose threats to workers’ health and safety.
· Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
· Assist Corporate HS&E in investigating accidents to identify causes and to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
Stop production if unsafe parts, actions or poor quality conditions exist
Minimum requirements
· A four (4) year college degree in Human Resources or equivalent.
· At least seven (7) years of increasing work-related skill, knowledge, or experience in a manufacturing environment is needed for this occupation.
· Professional in Human Resource (PHR) is preferred
Abilities required
· Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems
· Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
