PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages SGF Destination Agents domiciled in North America, including regular contact, weekly market updates, participate in agents’ local sales meetings, annual agents conferences, real time feedback loop to origin local stations. Follow up with Agents & SGF finance for past due AR and financial exceptions. Insures all agents are informed and up to date with any SGF compliance mandates as they would apply to their business with SGF.
• Solicits new agents at an acceptable pace as subscribed by head office always watching carrier allocations and market conditions to insure productive & sustainable relationships which add value to the SGF brand and reputation.
• Negotiates agency relationship agreement docs, legal review, exceptions, and insure proper and expeditious onboarding, establish SOP with KAM, staff introductions, and as advocate for agent to insure proper IT collaboration with key focals.
• Signatory as QI for Seamaster Logistics NVOCC License (Carson Ca), with all duties and responsibilities that authority is do designated.
• Manages and follows all rate activity and associated filings with Tariff Publisher (DPI). Notes exceptions or any delays. Follows all invoicing associated with same.
• Supports real time market feedback and rate loop to SGF officers and KAM at Asia origins.
• Advocates for agents’ activities, allocations, as requested, but always ensuring that such action is long term beneficial to the mutual benefit of SGF and agents.
• SGF BCC for North America, and attends all meetings as invited. Insure dissemination of any pertinent info or regulations as necessary. Work with SGF Asia BCC top ensure origin compliance.
• Weekly Market Newsletter to all agents & staff
• Investigates, prepares defense with attorneys/response, manages correspondence, ensures deadline compliance, for all regulatory, CHB, FMC, DOJ, docs and requested, required.
• Liaises with North American TGF corporate and branch offices to properly represent SGF interest and objectives, with proper and prompt follow up with origin side and exec team.
• Investigates, responds, and prepares adequate action plan, including legal stations, for any claims against SGF directly or via agency network.
• Represents SGF at trade functions, conferences, public engagements as invited, or requested, with approval by SGF Exec.
• Maintains relationships with Ocean Carriers and Vendors to support SGF long term financial benefit.
• Any other duty as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in logistics/freight forwarding industry and at least two (2) years’ management level experience.
• Thorough understanding of Ocean Export compliance, regulations and procedures
• Thorough understanding of Ocean Export contracts
