Total Plastic Solutions, LLC Hiring for HR Generalist at Lynchburg, VA Full Time

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with HR Manager. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Administers various human resource procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook.
• Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety.
• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and leadership, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Manager.
• Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
• Manages and records the departmental monthly KPI goals.
• Updates and maintains personnel files as necessary.
• Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
• Collaborates with staffing service(s) for temporary employees; conducts new-hire orientations; manages job changes within the company, updating files and reporting for administration and finance.
• Maintains confidentiality with personnel information. Entering and compiling reports from the workforce database.

• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• Performs other duties as assigned. Back-up to HR and Finance departments as needed.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
