About the Position
TJFACT & LIVE are seeking Two (2) dynamic HR Senior Policy and Advisory Specialists to join our team in Washington, DC. These positions will support the Department of Justice (DOJ) to provide staffing, strong recruitment, and hiring support to the DOJ HR Services Staff and classifications.
Based on pending vaccination mandated legislation, we recommend employees are vaccinated prior to working for TJFACT/LIVE.
Responsibilities:
Reviews existing Department-wide Human Resources policies and conducts research to determine if new government-wide regulations have been issued and prepared draft updates to existing policies, as appropriate.
Review cases of individuals who have applied for positions and have claimed Veterans Preference, but who have been passed over for appointment; review packages submitted by Components requesting variances due to improper processing of appointments. Prepares follow-up draft responses back to the components 9if additional information is needed) and prepares final packages for the HRPAS Assistant Directors review, as appropriate.
Reviews requests from DOJ Components for positions to be covered for secondary or primary Law Enforcement retirement (6C) coverage and makes recommendations if the position meet the requisite coverage.
Assists in the preparation of briefings, presentations, and/or annual reports (e.g., Sexual Harassment and Sexual Misconduct) by conducting analysis of data and making recommendations for the HRPAS Assistant Director
Prepares necessary memorandum (and supporting documentation) for Assistant Director of HRPAS review and/or JMD leadership signature;
Tracks and maintain logs of incoming requests (pass-over, LEOetc.) cases using specified tracking system; and
Prepares weekly report to Assistant Director of HRPAS of status update of pass over requests
Requirements:
Bachelors degree or higher from accredited college and/or University
Have prior highly technical HR experience (GS-13 or above) in Classification and Compensation, and/or Federal Staffing, to include Delegated Examining and application of Veterans Preference.
Must demonstrate a high degree of analytical and excellent communication skills.
Must also have the ability to communicate orally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders.
