Job Summary:
Responsible for the complete cycle of material flow, from the purchase and control of raw materials, to the planning and control of the finished product. The Supply Chain Lead will also develop and manage supplier relationships.
Job Duties:
- Monitors forecasts and keep track of availability and allocation of materials
- Negotiates prices and terms with suppliers, manage, monitor and maintain Min/Max levels
- Analyzes inventories and determines how to increase inventory turns, reduces waste and optimizes customer service
- Coordinates activities of supply chain management with other functional areas, including sales, marketing, finance, production and quality control
- Coordinates activities related to tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing and receiving including the movement, storage, or processing of inventory.
- Communicates with sales on aging inventory or other inventory issues
- Implements new or improved supply chain processes while managing functions and processes
- Reviews excess, obsolete and slow-moving inventory to determine disposition on a monthly basis
- Works with management to attain goals, carry out strategies, plans and policies to increase profitability and success of the company and arranges for the return of non-compliant material to suppliers as needed
- Oversee Planning of the work orders to ensure we minimize scrap
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, logistics, transport management or related field
- At least five years progressive experience in management of materials, preferably in graphics, lamination and/or plastic industry
- Financial skills: including cost modeling, cost analysis and Make vs. Buy analysis
- Must have organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Must possess good problem-solving skills
- Ability to interact in a professional manner with employees and vendors
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Must be dedicated to continuous improvement
- Willingness to work as team member or independently
