Title: Human Resources Manager
Location: Elmhurst, IL
Position Summary:
The Human Resources Manager (HR) is a hands-on leadership role that provides full-cycle human resources support to TransChicago Truck Group. This role will be an integral part of a dynamic team in which there is a strong focus on delivering results and continuous improvement. Working in a fast-paced environment, this role will get to partner with driven people to achieve strategic business goals.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership, guidance and support to the human resources team, serving as a liaison between HR and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive employee questions and issues arise.
- Manages the talent acquisition process by developing recruiting strategies that improve hiring time to hire, quality of hire, cost of hire, and onboarding.
- Oversees the process of the benefit administration process, directing the processing of benefit claims, coordinating educational programs on benefit programs, and overseeing the management of all LOAs.
- Designs strategies to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencies in benefits administration, payroll processing, time and attendance, payroll compliance, and delivery operations. Serves as a backup to performing key HR tasks including payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Supports internal/external audits including pre-audit planning and the resolution of any outstanding audit points.
- Assists in creating and executing various learning & development programs as well as training initiatives.
- Leads the annual performance review process to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
- Oversees internal compliance reviews and audits of human resources functions including I-9, exemption classifications, attendance polices and timecard records, personnel files, and other record-keeping.
- Actively identifies areas for improvement (culturally, organizationally, process), implements appropriate changes, and suggests for internal development opportunities for employees.
- Ensures legal compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Develops HR metrics for financial and operational reviews. Conducts analysis and runs routine reports of various metrics.
- Creates an environment where challenge, review, and a culture of continuous improvement is encouraged.
- Manages and executes organizational employee engagement programs and initiatives.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or required experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or related discipline.
- Minimum of five years of human resources experience in a leadership role.
- PHR certification preferred.
- Should be adept with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel) as well as proficiency with HRIS System.

- Understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvement in business objectives, productivity, and development of human resources within the company.
- A true hands-on approach supporting the human resources team to inspire, motivate, and support TransChicago Truck Group operations.
- Ability to successfully monitor the “pulse” of employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement.
