Description Summary
Our growing manufacturing firm is seeking an experienced Operations Manager who will play a key role in helping to update and develop our business. The ideal candidate for this position possesses proven leadership skills, as well as a strong ability to problem solve and make sound decisions that encourage corporate growth and structure.
The Operations Manager should have great leadership skills to inspire, motivate and guide their employees to submit valuable work and stay productive. They should also have extensive knowledge and experience working in business to understand how it functions in order to provide accurate and effective operations policies.
The Operations Manager must also have advanced experience in handling finances and building budgets. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are also needed in an ideal candidate, as they must be able to collaborate with and listen to the needs of employees and department heads to develop strategies that benefit each team.
Specific duties of the Operations Manager include ensuring that the plant meets production and profitability goals; handling all the administrative issues relating to the plant; overseeing the performance of all the production staff; ensuring that the production meets quality goals; acting as interface between the middle management and the operations staff; providing training opportunities to the production staff; The Operations Manager will report to the VP of Operations.
Responsibilities
§ Performance Management, Staffing, Management Proficiency, Coordination, Coaching, Developing Standards, Process Improvement, Decision Making and Quality Management.
§ Coordinates efforts by establishing procurement, production, and technical services policies and practices, and coordinating actions with corporate staff.
§ Accomplishes facility objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements, allocating resources, reviewing progress, and making mid-course corrections.
§ Takes a hands-on approach at dealing with complexity, Informing Others, Leadership, Supervision, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality, Product Development, Presenting Technical Information, and Equipment Maintenance.
§ Maintain constant communication with management, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the organization.
§ Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols.
§ Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity.
§ Actively pursue and execute strategic and operational objectives.
§ Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget.
§ Track staffing requirements, hiring new employees as needed.
§ Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
§ Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements.
§ Assign personnel and monitor the flow of work in process through the manufacturing facility.
§ Establish operating policies and procedures, coordination of multiple functions within a manufacturing facility, establish strategic plans to ensure production schedules are met within established quality and cost objectives.
§ Responsible for overall safety of personnel, company assets, and the surrounding environment.
§ Plans and schedules daily tasks” uses judgment on a variety of problems requiring deviation from standard practices.
Skills and Qualifications
§ Experience in production management.
§ Demonstrated passion in managing and leading diverse group to deliver quality output safely.
§ Strong manufacturing process knowledge and ability to lead teams to resolve problems.
§ Able to motivate and develop workforce to meet business challenges.
§ Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of plant operations and customer service.
§ Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Reasoning Ability
§ Apply common sense to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or in graphs/diagrams.
§ Good mathematical skills and knowledge of how to apply it to interpret financial information and in budget preparation.
§ Ability to read, understand and interpret different documents of business records and statistical reports of company.
Compensation and Benefits
Trimlite offers a competitive salary of $120k-$140k annually, plus an additional 10-20% discretionary bonus based on individual performance, company growth and profitability.
