II. FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and distributing financial reports to the accounting group in coordination with the monthly close process, as well as supervising staff accountants.
III. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise accounting staff.
- Prepare and present monthly/quarterly P&L variance analyses.
- Review and approve monthly journal entries and Balance Sheet account analysis.
- Prepare various financial statement presentations, including monthly P&L review package, monthly Senior Management review package, and quarterly board presentation.
- Coordinate the close process to ensure reports are received and reviewed timely and accurately.
- Satisfy ad hoc requests on general ledger details for accounting group, and other financial reports for internal management as needed.
- Maintain “Key Control Reports” and test new and/or change reports as needed.
IV. JOB REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 4+ years of work experience in public accounting or corporate accounting required.
- Familiar with month-end close activities required.
- Experience in Dynamics 365 a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Strong Excel a must! Access a plus.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Core understanding of general accounting and intermediate to advanced excel skills
- Leadership qualities, including strong organizational skills, to guide/assist junior team members
- Able to gather, summarize and report large amounts of data
- Ability to resolve problems and make suggestions to streamline processes
- Ability to take ownership of assignments
- Strong interpersonal skills – is curious about the business and accounting related processes, asks questions and works well in a team environment
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Must be at a commutable distance (within 50 miles) to the Purchase office
- We follow a hybrid working schedule of 3 days in the office (Monday – Wednesday)
V. BENEFITS:
The expected base salary range for this role is from $96,000 – $125,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
