Role Summary:
The Permit Drafter I is responsible for the application and tracking of permits required for the performance of FTTH networks, drafting fiber-optic network designs, and utilizing ESRI products. This includes creating features of a fiber-optic network, producing reports and analyzing data, gathering drawings and specifications, calculating material equipment, and setting up production methods.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Understanding of typical right-of-way usage permitting requirements
· Coordinating with engineers to gather project requirements and produce designs
· Ability and know-how to investigate market-specific right-of-way permitting requirements to support fiber network engineering projects.
· Documenting production methods with step-by-step processes
· Creating diagrams, maps, and layouts to illustrate workflows
· Understanding of local existing utility infrastructure data, and the know-how to acquire such data in various U.S. markets
· Preparing and reviewing rough sketches and preparing project documentation and maps for construction activities
· Edit fiber-optic network features to correct specific errors
· Creation of any necessary pieces of information that cannot be acquired
· Create permit application packages to meet the specific requirements of local permitting authorities as well as project-specific requirements
· Ability to meet deadlines and outstanding communication skills
· Manage, maintain, retrieve, and organize permit data electronically
· Familiar with OSP/ ISP telecommunications
Requirements:
· Minimum two years of experience using the ESRI ArcGIS suite of software
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
· Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
· Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects coupled with experience in working with fast-paced engineering in a production environment
· Strong organizational skills
· Flexibility to work shift differential hours
· Attention to detail is a must
· High integrity and work ethic
· Telecommunications and fiber network experience of 2 years is required
