SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for repairing Class 5-8 (medium-heavy duty) trucks and all models of trailers in a mobile/field environment. The Mobile Technician will respond to branch dispatched, unscheduled service and maintenance requests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment systems including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Power steering systems, Engines, Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment such as laptop computers and pressure gauges.
• Use basic hand tools, diagnostic instruments, as well as power tools.
• Document and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and all findings observed on Repair Orders (“RO”) using company issued device.
• Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in timely fashion.
• Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and submit work orders for invoicing.
• Manage parts inventory and equipment provided on a service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.
• Possess and maintain basic hand tools.
• Communicate with TruckPro location Service Support Team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates and/or discuss RO findings notes.
• Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with assigned customers and vendors.
• Maintain company issued service truck, conduct safety checks and pre/post trip inspections.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Participate and complete all company required training.

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or and equivalent combination of education. Formal technical school training is a plus.

EXPERIENCE:

• One to two years related work experience is required. Three years’ experience preferred.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Mechanical ability.
• Work with a high degree of independence.
• Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most standard repair times.
• Ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds.
