DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the HR Manager, the HR/Front Desk Coordinator will provide HR and administrative support to Qualcomm Institute and Design Lab. Provide general information to staff on leave of absence policies and procedures (FML/CFRA/Leaves without pay, etc). Assist in assessing leave eligibility while ensuring accuracy in the processing of appropriate leave forms. Manage undergraduate student appointments for Qualcomm Institute and Design Lab.
As primary timekeeper, manage time entries in Ecotime and resolve payroll issues. Process building access requests in the Building Security system. Keep accurate records for access and approvals. Run access reports and review information, as needed. Help process Visiting Graduate, Visiting Scholar, and Graduate Student Researcher (GSR) appointments for Qualcomm Institute and Design Lab. Serve as Front Office Liaison for Qualcomm Institute. Answer multi-line phone system, taking messages and directing inquiries to appropriate staff. Sort incoming/outgoing mail, schedule conference rooms, specialized meeting facilities, and parking spaces controlled by QI office. Other duties within the scope of the description.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from College with three (3) years experience in an HR support setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to interact professionally and courteously with diverse personalities, including non-native English speakers, within and outside of the University, using tact, diplomacy and flexibility.
Proven organizational skills: strong ability to prioritize tasks, self-motivate and to independently follow tasks through to completion.
Strong ability to work independently and harmoniously as part of a team with frequent interruptions and to meet established deadlines; ability to identify issues needing referral to supervisor.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and to use discretionary practices.
