Job Summary
Responsible for accurate processing of all payments received (cash, check, ACH, wire, etc.) and maintaining documentation to support all controls associated with the cash application process.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for cash application of all receipts. This includes but is not limited to:
- Lockbox exceptions
- Bank EDIs
- ACH
- Wire
- Physical payments received
- Prove the daily Cash Sheet to the total transmission of customer payments from the Lockbox and third party payment contractors. This includes monitoring and reconciling payments from multiple sources on a daily basis. Identify and correct intercompany transactions.
- Process daily clarification items for all customers. Thoroughly investigate any unapplied cash and record all applicable details of unapplied cash for proper escheatment to the state.
- Research misapplied payments, questionable payments, etc. and locate supporting documentation to correct posted items. Communicate with customers, banks, payment contractors and internal company staff.
- Verify Cash Sheets and bank accounts in the Supervisor’s absence
- Deposit on a Remote Capture Device
- Other Miscellaneous duties assigned by Supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Detail oriented with excellent analytical and investigative skills
- Group work environment, able to communicate with banks, customers, auditors, and other departments.
- Ability to work in an ERP system (SAP a plus)
- 10-digit keypad experience
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma
- Banking or Accounting experience a plus
