We have an exciting opportunity for a Graphic Designer at UL Research Institutes, based in our Columbia, MD office. The Graphic Designer will produce design solutions to support the work and mission of the Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI), a UL Research Institute (ULRI). The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating impactful designs to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders. The role will work closely with other content creators and researchers to translate complex safety science information into impactful visuals that advance the mission and impact of the institute

What you’ll learn & achieve:
As the Graphic Designer, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:
– Plan, design, and execute print and multimedia deliverables that engage, inform, and educate our stakeholders, applying the latest industry tools and best practices.
– Design publications and newsletters, edit photographs and videos, develop animations, and create PowerPoints, social media posts, infographics, and charts to support the needs of the organization.
– Form productive partnerships with critical internal stakeholders and subject matter experts as a member of our cross-functional and agile team.
– Manage multiple creative projects in adherence to brand guidelines.
– Maintain an easily accessible and organized archives of work.
– Perform other duties as directed.

Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:
– Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or related discipline is preferred.
– Minimum three years of related work experience.
– Proficiency with graphic content creation tools to create, design, develop, and deliver graphic designs, and the ability to learn new software applications is must. Animation and/or photography experience is a plus.
– Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar programs required.
