Head of Marketing

At Unchained Capital, our mission is to put every bitcoin holder securely in control of their assets. Our collaborative custody vaults make it easy to set up and manage multisig bitcoin storage, while providing a foundation to financial services for the long-term bitcoin holder, including trading, loans, and retirement accounts. We guide our clients through their bitcoin journey, equipping them with the knowledge, reassurance, and tools they need to secure their financial futures in ways that a traditional financial services institution cannot.

Your role

You’ll oversee all marketing and communications for Unchained, with the goal of driving the adoption of bitcoin private key self-custody. Your work will encompass both brand-building and growth and will require close interaction with many departments, particularly Concierge, Client Solutions, and Product.

Your duties will include:

• Building Unchained’s brand as a trusted financial partner for bitcoin savings.
• Developing and deploying growth strategies to generate leads and convert clients.
• Hiring and managing the broader marketing team, including full-time hires and external contractor resources.
• Comprehensive reporting on key performance metrics to provide an overview of our marketing funnels and ensure our marketing activities are always informed by data.
• Design, copywriting, and optimization of our marketing resources, including the main marketing website, blog, social media profiles, webinar landing pages, printed materials, and more.
• Overseeing key marketing initiatives, which include:
  • Content: Building a bitcoin knowledge blog designed to drive organic traffic.
  • Advertising: Long-term sponsorship partnerships with multiple podcasters to increase awareness of our services.
  • Social: Keeping our social media presence active and engaging.
  • Email marketing: Nurturing leads with email campaigns and cross-selling services to existing clients.
  • Event sponsorships and organization: Organization of the sponsorship of influential bitcoin events around the U.S. and sealing speaking appearances for our team. Also promoting our own hosted events, including regular meetups and occasional side-events.

About you

• You have 5+ years of experience in marketing, advertising, growth, and/or PR.
• Your marketing experience is coupled with a deep understanding of bitcoin basics—both from the perspective of bitcoin technicals and the unique nature of the bitcoin market.
• While you’re in your element with other bitcoiners, you have a knack for adapting your messaging for broader audiences. You have a sixth sense for what will resonate with less-experienced bitcoin users and are able to simplify communications without sacrificing key messages or authenticity.
• You combine a strong organizational mindset with entrepreneurial creativity—you’ll be managing a large and growing team while developing creative ways to maximize our marketing budget.
• You own some bitcoin and already hold your own keys. You regularly attend bitcoin meetups or conferences. You’ve built an audience for online bitcoin materials, either with one of your previous companies or as a side project. You can explain to someone the value proposition of multisig cold storage over using a singlesig wallet. You understand Unchained’s brand and the value of our platform.
