Job overview and responsibilities
The HR Manager for Line Stations will provide innovative HR support to their assigned Line Station/s in the areas of business objectives, HR initiatives, employee and labor relations, as well as Company policies and procedures.
Partner with and provide HR guidance and support to United’s local Lines Stations business leadership in various corporate and divisional objectives including but not limited to, workforce planning and development, organizational development and performance, staffing, HR employment practices, rewards and recognition strategies, diversity, employee relations, benefits programs, and succession planning
Establish and maintain strong business partnerships with leadership and employees at all levels of the organization
Responsible for the day-to-day Human Resources function in their assigned station/s for multiple divisions – Supporting six (6) Operational Divisions
Liaise and collaborate with leadership, other HR management and business partners on the implementation of HR strategies, programs, practices and issues
Provide strategic & tactical HR counsel on the operational projects and goals specific to the local/station operation and the Company
Responsible for new employee orientations, employee relations, investigations, conflict resolution and counseling
Required
BA/BS degree in Human Resources/Labor Relations or a related field, or 4 years equivalent work experience preferred
4 years HR/Generalist experience with emphasis on employee relations, labor relations, employee advocacy and cultural change activities is preferred -OR- equivalent leadership experience or relevant work experience
Broad knowledge of Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Training, Conflict Resolution and Investigations experience is required
Familiarity with FMLA, EEO laws, ADA and other employment related State and Federal laws & regulations is required
Superior written and oral communication skills
Proven track record of positively influencing teams and their leaders
Ability to connect and engage with all teams at all levels and treat everyone as equal
Be a coach, mentor, advisor and partner all at the same time
Must be able to work under pressure and deal with complex issues
Experienced decision maker who uses good reasoning and sound judgment
Ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality is required
Professional demeanor with ability to maintain composure and sensitivity in high stress situations
Must be self-motivated and have an enhanced ability to prioritize/plan in a fast paced environment
Must have strong organizational and analytical skills
Be a team player – you will be asked to assist in other areas of Human Resources as needed
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Preferred
HR Industry Certification preferred (PHR / SPHR / SHRM – CP/SCP)
Minimum 2 years Management/Leadership experience is preferred
Previous experience working in and/or managing a Unionized work group preferred
