Diamond Minds Transformational Leadership Academy is a year-round, private Pre-K through 8 school designed to ensure that each child receives a holistic education which nurtures their physical, emotional, intellectual, social, aesthetic and spiritual needs.

We educate students from a range of communities around the greater Miami area including, Miramar, Little Haiti, Liberty City, Miami Gardens and Aventura. Despite its private status, the school is populated primarily by students who traditionally receive free and reduced lunch. This is possible because of scholarship programs such as Step Up for Students and McKay, as well as internal scholarships supported by donations and fundraising efforts.
Specific duties:

• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences
• Develop comprehensive lesson plans.
• Engage students in dynamic and active learning experiences through creative presentation of materials to be learned.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Work cooperatively with teacher’s from other disciplines to ensure cross-curricular connections.
• Interact with students in an appropriate and positive manner, fostering independence.
• Provide students with the appropriate skills to succeed in class and on standardized tests.
• Maintain high expectations and standards for all students.
• Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
• Use relevant technology to support instruction.
• Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development
• Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments on a weekly basis, recording information in online grade book.
• Update class webpage weekly.
• Provide appropriate feedback on work
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
• Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
• Participate in department and school meetings, parent meetings.
• Administer standardized test.
• Utilizing the results of the standardized test, develop comprehensive educational plan for each student.
• Participate in and support all fundraising efforts.
• Provide leadership and direction to all T.A.

• Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students’ varying needs.
• Ensure grades are ready by established deadlines to ensure they are included on progress reports and report cards.
• Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations.
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
• Keep up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.

Minimum requirements:

1. BA/BS degree in Elementary Education

2. Florida Teacher’s certificate

3. 1 year experience working with grades Pre-K thru HS, experience with disabled preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 – $47,500.00 per year
