Responsible for the management of laboratory employees at multiple clinics. Responsible for quality and timeliness for technical procedures.  Ensures compliance with applicable testing requirements and departmental budgets.  

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide technical lab supervision with oversight by Physician Lab Director. Provide daily supervision of all lab personnel
• Maintain a professional atmosphere and fully utilize department staff
• Hold regular meetings with staff and management. Advise management on operational improvement opportunities
• Provide: orientation, policy and procedure review; performance, hiring, and termination feedback; and workforce planning
• Support Physician Laboratory Director in ensuring the laboratory meets state and federal regulatory requirements
• Follow company, department, state and federal guidelines regarding operations and inspections
• Initiates quality measures and monitors quality of work for adherence to laboratory standards. Responsible for maintaining all quality control data
• Monitor all results and reports for quality/accuracy. Maintain training and proficiency testing records as required
• Ensure adherence to quality control policies, document QC activities, calibrations, and maintenance performed. Evaluate QC, internal control, and calibration data to ensure they are within the expected range for results reporting
• Maintains liaison with all appropriate Physician and Laboratory functions to ensure that service functions are meeting operational needs
• Provides assistance in technical matters to internal and external clients. Monitors customer reaction to quality of services and implements action when required.
• Responsible for monitoring supplies and equipment. Reviews the profitability of testing assays and makes appropriate recommendations regarding their continued disposition. Coordinates operating plans and workflows with the Clinic Administrator and with Lead Physician to ensure a cohesive effort to achieve profitable results. 
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED 
• Current Medical Technologist certification 
• 6+ years of laboratory operations experience
• Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences 
• 1+ years of team lead or supervisory experience supervising all laboratory staff positions and phlebotomists

• Management and Leadership skills for the planning, coordination, evaluation, and supervision of all technical and/or operational activities and staff members in the laboratory. Responsible for performing duties so as to operate the lab with the highest quality safety and integrity, and in an efficient, economical and businesslike manner are of utmost importance. Identifies future needs in terms of staff, equipment, and facilities. Submits appropriate documentation for procurement of such. Reviews test performance, drives process and project management, and prepares and submits required reports to meet established deadlines. Ensures departmental standard operating procedures and database accurately reflects the current process.  
• Participates in the development of annual budget and manages department costs and resources to adhere to budget. Resolves problems through interaction with clients via phone calls or other means of communication.
