Essentail Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Plant operations: Oversee all collection and service operations
• Ensure incoming oil analysis is completed before unloading.
• Monitor the processing/blending and shipping of recycled fuel oil to customers
• Monitor the segregation of oily water from other materials.
• Monitor the segregation of used antifreeze for recycling
• Dispose of waste materials using the lowest cost, environmentally compliant methods
• Schedule and manage transport shipments and oil filter processing.
• Supervise daily driver activities for the Region, including but not limited to: new customer setup, scheduling call-ins, analyzing routes, optimizing efficiency using map point and other resources available, worker productivity, and administering Region bi-weekly payroll.
• Provide new hire and periodic training, including DOT regulations, Used Oil Regulations, and OSHA Regulations. Prepare and conduct monthly safety meetings working closely with UES safety resources.
• Manage employee performance; ensure employee retention and assist with recruiting and training; coach route drivers on sales and customer service techniques to encourage growth and productivity. Conduct annual performance reviews in conjunction with Vice President and Human Resources Manager
• Handle incoming customer calls regarding scheduling, documents, and equipment needs in a timely and professional manner.
• Support vacuum truck services; schedule services. Maintain the equipment and seek out local vendors for handling waste locally.
• Maintain all necessary customer and material profiles.
• Monitor the vehicle maintenance program; maintain all required DOT documentation; identify cost-effective vendors for plant/vehicle maintenance.
• Maintain and review driver logs and related DOT documentation.
• With Vice President, establish operational performance goals. Monitor performance
• Build positive business and community relationships.
• Develop and sustain relationships with new and existing vendors.
• Communicate market / sales information to National Sales Manager or designee.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must be familiar with all company policies and procedures regarding safety and operations.
• Capable of teaching and instructing others in the use and care of UES equipment, administrative procedures, sales techniques, and other areas of operation.
• Must have a working knowledge of all applicable rules, regulations, and laws of the State, Federal, pertaining to the collection / transportation of used oil.
• Good planning and organizational skills; limited supervision needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Ability to travel to other locations; overnight stays may be required.
• Above-average computer skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or five years of comprehensive experience in operations and management.
• Five years of experience in either hazardous waste or waste oil handling / processing.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

• Physical activity includes bending, reaching, stretching, and climbing in/out of tractors and on top of trailers; at various customer locations.
• All types of weather conditions, include rain,cold, and heat.

Supervisory Responsibility

• Plant personnel, drivers, administrative and outside vendors.
