Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Department of Engineering Information Technology (EIT) of A. James Clark School of Engineering, University of Maryland, College Park is seeking an Operations Manager to be part of the Department’s Technical Operations Team. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for: (1) assisting in the management of technical staff; (2) assisting in the creation and validation of safety programs by working with regulatory bodies such as Environmental Safety (ESSR) and the Fire Marshal’s office; (3) establishing style guides and templates for the creation of standard operating procedures; workshop & information session curriculum that can be deployed within Technical Operations and shared with partner Makerspaces & academic programs across campus; and (4) participate in the leadership and promotion of Technical Operations as well as the campus and national maker movement.
