The Division of Development and Alumni Relations has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Web Developer to work in Coral Gables, FL.

General Overview:
The web developer develops websites and web-based applications that are mobile-friendly and cross-browser compatible for donation-based transactions and other content developed by Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) Communications for the department(s)’ internal and external users to consume. Additionally, the incumbent oversees website layout, integrates graphics, updates current online applications, and develops and implements web-based applications and usability testing processes to ensure that new website applications meet University requirements. The incumbent will also be part of the mass email communication production team and will assist with scheduling mass email campaigns, provide basic HTML and CSS support to platform users. This is a customer-centric position that requires team engagement, empathy, and customer service skills to succeed in addition to web development and web-based applications development skills.
Essential Responsibilities:
Design, build and maintain websites using authoring or scripting languages (HTML, CSS, XML, JSON, JSP, JQUERY, AJAX, AngularJS and/or React, NET C# 5, ASP.NET, JavaScript), content creation tools, management tools, and digital media.
Develop web-based applications to support internal and external users.
Spot emerging trends in web design and technology.
Supports web infrastructure team by providing end-user support, web-based applications maintenance, product evaluation, back-end, and internal management tools development.
Analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements, then research, develop, and document web-based solutions for customers.
Cross-browser user interface design and content direct design creation skills for desktop and mobile.
Creates wireframes, site maps, and/or prototypes including physical interface, logical, or data models.
Incorporates technical considerations into website design plans, such as budgets, equipment, performance requirements, and legal issues.
Manage and troubleshoot issues within existing web pages and templates, create new pages, and migrate existing web content into new webpage templates as website infrastructure evolves and expands.
Participates in efforts to improve the overall web development infrastructure, and delivery processes.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Hybrid work schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
Ability to design, build and maintain websites and web-based applications with mobile components using authoring or scripting languages such as HTML, CSS, XML, JSON, JQUERY, AJAX, AngularJS, and/or React, NET C# 5, ASP.NET, JavaScript.
Database experience with any of the following: Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server, MySQL.
Experience working with API connections to consume services.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, while providing empathetic customer service to internal and external customers.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong web-based application development skills
Comfort with multi-tasking in a deadline-driven environment, while analyzing, organizing, and prioritizing work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Ability to troubleshoot web-based applications and cross-browser mobile services.
Experience with UI/UX disciplines and helping provide a good User Experience.
Excellent time management skills.
Skill in completing assignments accurately with attention to detail by the assigned deadline.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work occasional evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
