Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer. The Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer, reporting to the AVP of HR/Risk/Compliance, directly manages Employee Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and Classification & Compensation areas of the Office of Human Resources.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the functions of Employee Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and Classification & Compensation staff and operations. Ensure exceptional customer service and response time in a model of accountability to departments.
- Assists UNG HR practitioners with problem resolution and communication of pertinent HR information to the university population as appropriate.
- Provides guidance and consistency in policy and procedure decisions within the Office of Human Resources. Ensure principles and practices of human resources administration, workforce equity and diversity.
- Assists in maintaining HR compliance regarding federal regulations, University System of Georgia and Institutional regulations, policies and procedures.
- Manages and conducts research as appropriate on projects and initiatives. Establish and track Human Resources metrics.
- Represents the department on various committees, work groups, and employee forums.
- Assists in managing the operational budget of the Office of Human Resources.
- Performs other job related duties as required. Â
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field is required. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of five to seven years in Human Resource management is required.
- PHR, SPHR certification is desirable.
- Experience with PeopleSoft and Careers is desirable.Â
