The University of Pikeville’s College of Arts and Sciences is seeking applicants for a full-time, nine-month faculty appointment in the field of American literature starting August 2023. Rank and salary will be based on qualifications. Preference will be given to candidates who have a demonstrated commitment to, and will take an active role in, enhancing diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

The successful candidate will be able to teach African American Literature, upper-level courses, and part one and/or two of the American survey. (Preference will be given to candidates who can teach the entire sequence.) Evidence of digital methods in scholarship and teaching is a priority. The candidate will also teach first-year writing courses which incorporate common programmatic elements but may also be designed in accordance with the candidate’s own interests.
