Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
The University of South Carolina’s Division of Human Resources is implementing a new HR service delivery model to better serve our employees and the colleges, schools, and business units that support them. We are accepting applications to fill the role of Senior HR Generalist (multiple vacancies available).
The Senior Human Resources Generalist will serve on a service team within the Division of Human Resources providing direct support to a set of assigned colleges and divisions within the University. The Senior HR Generalist plays a crucial role on the Service Team by providing higher level support for cross-functional HR actions. This position prioritizes service to customer units by providing guidance and assistance to HR contacts, management, and employees regarding HR actions within the scope of this position. The Senior HR Generalist as resource and peer leader to HR Contacts to ensure they are strengthening knowledge of HR processes, procedures, and applicable regulations/laws.
Two positions available.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years experience in human resources management programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and understanding of UofSC HR policies, State of SC HR Regulations and applicable federal HR laws/regulations. Prior experience in cross-functional HR program management.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle data with confidentiality. Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously. In depth knowledge of HR best practices, as well as state and federal laws and regulations. Ability to analyze requests and make sound recommendations or solutions. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers at all levels. Ability to write clearly, accurately, and effectively.
