Program Director for the Master of Social Work
The University of the Pacific (Pacific), in partnership with the national search firm,

and nominations for the position of Program Director (Director) for the Master of Social Work (MSW)
program.Reporting to the Dean of the School of Health Sciences, the Director has the authority and responsibility to manage the MSW
including planning and operation; evaluation; budgeting; selection of faculty, staff, and recruitment of students; design, implementation,
coordination of curriculum; maintenance of accreditation; and commitment to strategies for professional development. This is a faculty
appointment. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.

About the Master of Social Work Program
and the School of Health Sciences:
The Master of Social Work (MSW) program
prepares students to work in a variety of practices, including mental health, diabetes, aging, and public health. Students will become
skilled and compassionate professionals, who provide comprehensive and culturally sensitive clinical care using an evidence-based approach.
This hybrid (online and classroom) program is offered on the Sacramento campus and is open to students with or without academic and
career experience in social work. An accelerated 16-month traditional program is designed for students without a bachelor’s degree in social
work, and a new cohort starts each fall trimester (August).A 12-month Advanced Standing option is available for students with a bachelor’s
degree in social work, and new cohort starts each spring semester (January).
The School of Health Sciences was built on Pacific’s
long-standing reputation for educating health care professionals and features innovative curricula, accelerated programs, extensive
experiential learning and clinical training for all students. All programs include interprofessional education experiences designed to
prepare students to deliver health care in a team-based model. The Pacific School of Health Sciences prepares practice ready athletic
trainers, audiologists, clinical nutritionists, physical therapists, physician assistants, occupational therapists, speech-language
pathologists, and social workers to meet the health care demands of our community in the Central Valley and Northern California.
