DEPARTMENT INFORMATION
University Advancement works with the members of the Board of Directors of both the Stout University Foundation and Stout Alumni Association Boards to cultivate, solicit, and steward private support to meet the mission of the University. For 60 years, the Stout University Foundation has provided support to the University through student scholarships, faculty support, and academic and non-academic programs. Working with University leadership, priorities are identified, and fundraising strategies developed to achieve fundraising goals. With more than 69,000 alumni, the Alumni Association promotes engagement opportunities in a wide variety of programs both on and off campus. Through this engagement, alumni continue to embrace and promote the Polytechnic mission of UW-Stout.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice Chancellor for University Advancement and Alumni Relations reports directly to the Chancellor and is a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet. The Vice Chancellor is responsible for development, alumni, and donor relations. The Vice Chancellor will advise the Chancellor and other senior officers of the university on all aspects of development and alumni affairs and will effectively promote internal and external understanding and support of the university’s unique polytechnic mission as correlated with giving and engagement goals. The Vice Chancellor’s primary responsibilities will be to develop and implement university-wide and unit-specific strategies for development and alumni engagement including any comprehensive, project, or program-specific campaigns; to build and lead the necessary infrastructure to support these efforts; to provide the Chancellor and other key internal leaders in their work with top prospects and donors; and to oversee coordination of development and alumni engagement efforts across the university.
