Job Description
Overview:
An Activity-Based Rehab Technician provides a direct supportive role in the delivery of therapy services (primarily in the Outpatient Spinal Cord Medicine Program and Community Fitness and Wellness Program).
Responsibilities:
- Providing a direct supportive role in the delivery of therapy services including locomotor training and activity-based rehab. Assisting in preparing the patient for therapy services.
- Serving as an advocate for patients with spinal cord injuries. Spinal cord injuries including, but not limited to traumatic SCI, non-traumatic SCI, multiple sclerosis, ALS, Guillain-Barre syndrome, spina bifida, transverse myelitis, polio/ post-polio syndrome.
- Providing multi-disciplinary collaborative care, as part of a large team of therapists, activity-based rehab technicians, nurses, physicians, and care managers.
- Maintaining gym equipment, space, and facility documentation.
- Collect baseline health measurements.
Qualifications:
Minimum 60 credit hours completion toward degree in exercise science, physiology, or health related field.
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire date.
