US Acute Care Solutions Hiring for Network Operations Center Engineer (NOC) Job at Remote Full Time

The NOC Engineer will be a part of a broader team working directly with network managers and cyber security engineers and must work well independently and be comfortable in a client service environment. Strong communication skills are a must with specific focus on verbal interaction. A solid understanding of networking, net-flow, network element testing and verification of switch, network, transport, or systems across multiple technologies on the voice, VPN, and wireless networks.

The NOC Engineer will be responsible for evaluating, configuring, and supporting server and network monitoring technologies. They must also maintain current and thorough knowledge of customer technologies and their significance to customer operations. System administration tasks such as network/system troubleshooting, patching operating systems and applications, and executing various scripts.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Demonstrate intuitive problem solving skills and allow for flexible scheduling.
• Support, configuration and maintenance of all networks and infrastructures.
• Working knowledge of VoIP technology.
• Monitor network and server traffic for outages and issues and perform triage analysis to identify root cause.
• Performs technical analysis of system issues and outages as they occur across customer enterprise networks.
• Performs research to troubleshoot and resolve the issue or, depending upon complexity, escalates the issue to higher-level systems administrators and network engineers.
• Prioritize remediation of issues in a 24 x 7 environment with critical uptime requirements.
• Perform and/or assist with digital forensic analysis post incident.
• Configuration/Administration support for Mobile Device Management and cloud applications (Dropbox, Box, etc.)
• Configuration/Administration support for VoIP technology (Cisco)
• Installation/Configuration/Administration of network and server monitoring tools (PRTG, etc.)
• Work closely with the other teams to assess risk and provide recommendations for improving our security posture.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Monitoring, maintenance, diagnostics and repair of internal computer equipment in the computer room and at user workstations, as well as support client interaction with computer room systems and downloading of client products
• Implement new technologies and roll-out new products and systems in coordination with Senior Network Engineering staff
• Performs trend analysis on monitoring alarms, incident reports and service tickets, to resolve identified issues
• Provide timely response to all incidents, outages and performance alerts. Categorize issues for escalation to appropriate technical teams
• Recognize, identify and prioritize incidents in accordance with USACS business requirements, organizational policies and operational impact
• Collect and review performance reports for various systems, and report trends in hardware and application performance to assist senior technical personnel to predict future issues or outages
• Monitor a wide variety of information and network systems that include, but are not limited to telecommunications circuits, LAN/WAN systems, routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP systems, servers, storage, backup, operating systems and core applications
• Document all actions in accordance with standard company policies and procedures
• Notify USACS Management and third-party service providers of issues, outages and remediation status
• Work with internal and external technical and service teams to create and/or update knowledge base articles
• Perform basic systems testing and operational tasks (installation of patches, network connectivity testing, script execution, etc.)
• Monitoring, maintenance, diagnostics and repair of internal computer equipment in the computer room and at user workstations, as well as support client interaction with computer room systems and downloading of client products

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems/Computer Science or 5+ years applicable experience
• Network operations and networking security information with event management (SIEM) experience
• Network management experience
• Knowledge of optimizing netflow and incident intrusion protection technologies
