Summary About the Position: Fort Gregg-Adams is in America’s Historic Heartland in Virginia, 25 miles south of Richmond and very near the confluence of the James and Appomattox rivers. Previously known as Fort Lee, the installation was redesignated on April 27, 2023 as Fort Gregg-Adams in honor of the contributions of two Black officers who excelled in the field of Sustainment. Responsibilities Analyze Sustainment organizational force structure and make recommendations for modifications in the Simulation database. Research doctrinal Sustainment training tasks in order to support training simulations and make recommendations to the design of an exercise. Assist with coordinating training simulations model requirements with various participants worldwide. Participate in the overall design of exercises to support forces in various types of command environments. Apply military tactics/support operations doctrine to design exercise scenarios for organization. Administer exercise databases to ensure proper function in simulation-driven exercises. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience planning training exercises which include, strategic, operational, and tactical aspects of logistical support of forces in a combat environment. Experience which includes testing and execution of pre and post development of simulations, participating in both functional and technical verification/validation of exercise databases used for sustainment training simulation models in Joint, Command, or Sustainment stand-alone training exercises conducted at Battalion/Brigade through Unified Command levels. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Planning and Evaluating Teamwork Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
