Position Summary
The Senior Accountant position is responsible for managing and performing all accounting, financial and bookkeeping related matters on behalf of the company. The Senior Accountant’s primary duties and responsibilities will include the following:
· Management of accounts payable, including verification and payment of incoming invoices, bills and related documents;
· Preparation and transmittal of invoices to customers;
· Manage monthly, quarterly and annual closing of financial statements;
· Prepare and maintain accurate financial records by compiling and recording all relevant accounting and financial information;
· Manage and reconcile contracts and invoices, by collecting, maintaining and analyzing accounting records;
· Research and analysis of accounting matters, and work with external CPA as necessary;
· Utilization of electronic records utilizing Microsoft Excel or other accounting software furnished by the company;
· Provide customer services, including responding to customer inquiries and requests for information;
· Manage bank accounts, credit card accounts and other financial accounts as requested
· Manage and reconcile company insurance, employee insurance, retirement plan
· Other duties as requested or assigned
Requirements of Position
· Business travel for conferences, customer meetings, and supplier meetings when requested (estimated 10-14 days).
· Duties and responsibilities must be performed in a timely and efficient manner consistent with all required deadlines.
· Consistent attendance and punctuality during regular business hours, and responsible for ensuring that duties and responsibilities are covered if absent;
· Communication and timely reporting with employees, management and customers.
Qualifications
· Business Acumen
o Employee must display and demonstrate knowledge of accounting principles and processes, a working knowledge of the industry and customers, and an understanding of the business and professional needs and expectations of the organization and its customers;
· Education and Experience
o Minimum of 5 years work experience managing and coordinating accounting and financial matters. Experience in the grain or trade industry is preferred.
o Substantial training and education at the collegiate level in the areas of business and accounting. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting is preferred.
· Customer Service:
o Ability to communicate and manage customer relationships in a professional and respectful matter at all times.
o Ensure prompt response to all customer inquiries, and ability to multi-task.
· Language Skills
o Second language is not required.
o Ability to read business news, professional journals and to discuss, ability to write reports, business correspondence.
o Ability to effectively respond to questions from customers and suppliers.
o Ability to write business correspondence.
· Mathematical and Accounting Skills
o Working knowledge and ability to calculate mathematical, financial and accounting figures, including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
· Computer Skills
o Ability to use Windows Operating Systems, MS Excel, MS Word.
o Advanced knowledge and experience with MS Excel is preferred.
o Ability to become fluent using other accounting software as necessary.

o Must have the ability to analyze and execute duties and responsibilities strategically, taking into account the goals of the organization and the industry.
o Ability to draw on professional knowledge and experience to provide innovative solutions to resolve or improve the business;

o Self-starter and high-level of motivation is necessary.
o Demonstrated history of pursuing training and development opportunities, and commitment to continuously building upon knowledge and skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
