The health technician performs a full range of duties and is responsible for day-today operation of telehealth services at the assigned location and between the assigned location and remote sites of care as well as participating in the programmatic development and advanced support of the facility-wide telehealth program. The health technician is expected to exercise independent judgement and will often provide guidance to less experienced staff members and will require minimal direct supervision. The higher-level duties associated with this advanced-level position may include, but are not limited to:

In accordance with clinic protocols, performs cerumen management. This includes evaluating the need for cerumen management, assessing contraindications, and selecting an appropriate method (mechanical, suction, irrigation). The health technician performs cerumen management, recognizes potential complications, and initiates referrals to the Audiology staff, primary care, or ENT as necessary.

DEFINITIONS
Creditable Experience. Candidates need to have knowledge of current Health Technician(Telehealth Clinical) Practice. To be creditable, experience must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) associated with a health care field or knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the current occupation. Experience satisfying this requirement may be paid or non-paid employment in the health care field.
Quality of Experience. Qualifying experience must be at a level comparable to the Health Technician (Telehealth Clinical) experience at the next lower grade level of the position being filled.
GRADE DETERMINATIONS. In addition to the basic requirements for employment, the following criteria must be met when determining the grade of candidates.

Physical Requirements: The work requires some physical exertion such as prolonged periods of standing, bending, reaching, crouching, stooping, stretching, and lifting moderately heavy items such as manuals, record boxes, equipment or assisting patients.
