Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Have at least one year of specialized Investigator experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service providing support of criminal prosecutions and civil or administrative judgments. Specific work experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Recognize, develop, and present evidence in a report of administrative and/or reprisal investigations to reconstruct events in sequence and analyze evidence according to governing statute and regulation; 2) Prepare and edit reports and testimony applicable to investigations, investigative policies, and procedures supporting the investigative process; and 3) Utilize comprehensive knowledge of investigative and analytical techniques in conducting investigative fact-finding and gathering of pertinent data to identify issues that warrant investigation from written materials provided by complainant and other witnesses.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration.
