City of Peoria’s Water Services Department is hiring for a Utility Mechanic II for the Butler Water Reclamation Plant. The purpose of this position is to perform journey level maintenance and repair work on water and wastewater process specialized equipment located at treatment plants, lift stations, well and booster sites. This is accomplished by troubleshooting, servicing, installing, repairing and maintaining a wide variety of specialized equipment. Other duties may include completing related tasks as assigned.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

• Experience in a Municipal/Government setting
• Have an excellent work ethic and communicative skills
• Works well with other team members and co-workers
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong computer skills – experience with common business computer applications including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Directly related wastewater, water, maintenance experience
